Underfoot Feel
The FWD Via has a midsole featuring Altra's nitrogen infused EGO FLO foam. This provides plush cushioning, but the cushioning feels smooth and responsive - and not overly soft.
The heel-to-toe drop is 4 mm, and when this is combined with a rocker shape geometry, the result should be a feeling of forward propulsion. The design should lead to improved efficiency when it comes to moving through the gait cycle.

Ideal Run Type
Thanks to the responsive cushioning, the Altra Women's FWD Via Road Running Shoes are best for short to medium length runs at steady to brisker paces. They may well prove to be very comfortable for longer runs at slower speeds. However, we expect that they will be at their best for quicker training runs over shorter distances.
